Week 34: Boring Pregnant Lady {Babies and Beyond Link-Up #29}

1.13.2014

It's been a few weeks since we've had a good ole' fashioned pregnancy update, so I thought I'd take a minute to share with you.

34 Weeks
I've had several people ask me in the last few days if I'm ready for Baby J to get here.

I'm never really sure what to say. On one hand I don't ever want to give the impression that I'm less than completely excited and grateful to be having another baby. Of course, I'm ready! I was ready 9 months ago when we started this little adventure.

Cupcake, Mommy, and Baby J
But on the other hand, this isn't my first time around the block, and I happen to know that this little blessing is a lot less work now than he will be once he gets here. I am ready to hold and snuggle a new baby, but I'm not ready for soreness, nursing (again...), waking up every 3 hours, and feeling like I just want to cry and pull my hair out because my toddlers got 12 hours of sleep last night and I only got 2.

Who in their right mind is ever ready for that?

So for the first time ever, I find myself at 34 weeks pregnant and not impatient in the least. I've got 6 more weeks? Praise the Lord!

But if Baby J decides to show up sooner rather than later, then I can honestly say he's welcome. I've got a blanket with his name on it (not really, it's a hand-me-down, but you get the idea).

As far as the pregnancy goes, I really am feeling great. I'm definitely stretched out and sometimes uncomfortable, but I'm very blessed. It's not that being pregnant is easy. I've had to make adjustments to the way I eat, the way I sleep, the way I get dressed, shower, and even take care of my other kids. I am constantly running into situations that are just more difficult because I'm pregnant.

But I am very thankful to have a healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy and of course, we are praying for a healthy and uncomplicated baby!

Now for a few details...
I'm 34 weeks.
I've gained 25 pounds.
I can't tie my own shoes.
I can't stand the smell of chicken cooking.
I don't have a birth plan, or a bag packed, or a place for baby to sleep.
We do have a name picked out, but I'm not sure if we are sharing it online.
I'm craving peanut butter cookies.
I love watching my belly jump around and little feet kicking.
I don't like the fact that those feet are constantly up in my ribs.

That pretty much sums it up. I'm a pretty boring pregnant lady, but then again, I guess sometimes boring is a blessing!

Now it's Link-up Time!

This week I'm featuring Shari Lynne @ Faith Filled Food for Moms.

Save

I'm not much of a couponer, but I do frequently look to see what's on sale and stock up on the things we use most. That's why I love this idea of planning ahead and shopping the sales cycles. Anyone else have experience with this? Does it work for you?

And just a reminder, there are lots of ways you can follow along with each of your co-hosts. We LOVE getting to know you!
