A Little Bite of Cupcake: 8.5 Months Update

9.14.2013

So far this week I've shared with you about the new baby in my pregnancy update and all about Rooster in his second birthday post, so I thought to round the week out I'd share a little update on our sweet Cupcake.

Cupcake is 8.5 months old and as giggly as little girls come. She is crawling and pulling up on everything. She so desperately wants to let go and walk, but I think we're a few months from that still. She nurses 5 times a day and most recently twice at night. I'm not a fan of the twice at night thing, but you work with what you get (count it all joy! right?)

Cupcake loves to chase after her brother, and sometime she catches him! He loves to sit on top of her and wrestle. I panicked the first time I walked in on Rooster "riding" Cupcake like a pony. He was shouting, and she was laughing uncontrollably! These two are going to be a handful.

She still hasn't cut any teeth, but that hasn't slowed her appetite down any. This girl will eat anything. We started solid foods around 7 months, and she mostly eats table food. However, we were given a bunch of baby food a few weeks ago, and of course, I'm not going to waste it. I forgot how convenient and less messy baby food is. I just can't wait till that girl can use a fork and wipe her own mouth (you know in like two years!).

And now for my favorite part: pictures! Here are a few of my favorite from the last two months.

Proof that Rooster isn't the ONLY one who makes a mess!

Missing a paci? Grab a puzzle piece!

This is what all those years of studying in
college got me: really expensive teethers.

I can crawl and eat your face.

BIG Manatee, Little Girl!

She loves to eat! I think they call this
baby led weaning face smearing...
