Happy Bloggy Birthday!

It's hard to believe, but I've officially been blogging one whole year.

When I started this blog I never expected anything much to come of it. I often start random creative/organizational/educational projects and never finish them. It's why I have piles and piles of index cards with scripture on them, sign language instruction books, and several pairs or knitting needles.

But blogging is different. When I started writing a year ago, I was looking for a way out of my head and into a conversation. I love to talk to people, but I often feel like small talk crowds out any meaningful conversations. I turned to blogging as a way to share the things that were most important to me.  I wanted a way to share who I am and what Christ is doing in my life in a way that encourages other women to open up and continue the conversation.

And God has blessed my efforts, even more than I could have expected. Writing has given me a chance to slow down, think, and truly enjoy the Word of God. And when I have a terribly disastrous day, I try not to let it bother me. Bad days often make very humorous blog posts!
