Our Week So Far

5.09.2012

My husband has been gone almost almost a week, and LOTS of things have happened around Grandma's house.

Reuben has...
started eating three full meals of baby food a day and nursing a lot less.
started sleeping up to six hours a time at night.
started crawling forward, finally!

I'm think my husband may regret that whole, "You're the man of the house now" speech he gave Reuben before he left because our baby has turned into a little man overnight!

Of course, not all of the new habits he's picked up at Grandma and Grandpa's house are so good.

Reuben has also...
started eating ice cream every night before bed.
started wanting constant attention, constantly.
started drinking from a squirt bottle (curious? watch the video below)

We've got some work cut out for us when we get home. This boy is spoiled!

I guess that's the point of going to your grandparent's house, getting to do all the things you never get to do at home. It hasn't been so bad because I'm here to curb the rule breaking, but still...when your parents are sitting on the couch slipping your baby ice cream when your aren't looking, there's not a lot a mom can do!

We've had lots of fun at grandma and grandpa's,but we are still very ready for my husband to come home! We really need him. It's taken 4 adults (my mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa) to replace my one amazing husband. I'm not sure what it is about Evan, but in one fell swoop he can take out the trash, entertain the baby, and comfort a tired mommy all at the same time.  He is a very talented dad.

Evan comes home on Saturday, and until then we have lots to keep us busy, swimming, reading, watching tv (a luxury around our house), playing with the dogs, and of course eating and sleeping.

But of course, we are not so busy that we forget to miss our daddy.

Or forget to eat ice cream. We could never forget the ice cream :)
